3.3 quake shakes Laytonville, Calif.

LAYTONVILLE, Calif., Jan. 11 (UPI) -- A 3.3-magnitude earthquake struck Friday near Laytonville, Calif., the U.S. Geological Survey said. No injuries were reported.

The shallow earthquake occurred at 2:46 a.m. PST at a depth of 5.6 miles, the Los Angeles Times reported.

The epicenter was 14 miles from Rockport, 15 miles from Cape Vizcaino, 27 miles from Fort Bragg and 140 miles from Sacramento, the USGS reported.

There have been four earthquakes at a magnitude of 3.0 or more centered in the area in the past 10 days, the Times reported.
