OLD BRIDGE, N.J., Jan. 10 (UPI) -- A crash involving a school bus and a commuter bus in Old Bridge, N.J., Thursday morning injured more than 12 people, police said.

The Academy bus crashed head-first into a tree, while the school bus, which had just a driver and an aide on board, rolled over and hit a generator and pumping station, police said.

Old Bridge Police Captain Arthur Carullo said the Academy bus driver, identified as Daniel Jean-Pierre, 42, suffered serious injuries. He was air-lifted to a Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital where he was listed in critical condition, said hospital spokesman Peter Haigney.

Another passenger, a 31-year-old woman, is also critical at Robert Wood Johnson, the spokesman said.

Others who were injured, including the school bus aide, were treated at the scene.
