Woman set on fire in laundry spat

SAN FRANCISCO, Jan. 7 (UPI) -- A fight over laundry led to a San Francisco man allegedly setting his girlfriend on fire, the woman's sister alleges.

Starr Lamare, 25, wanted to leave clothes at a Laundromat Sunday afternoon, but Dexter Oliver, 22, didn't. After an argument, Oliver left and returned with gasoline, doused Lamare and set her on fire, Precious Craig, Lamare's sister, told KGO-TV, San Francisco.

Witnesses said Lamare removed her burning sweater as she ran down the street toward her home.

Emergency crews took her to a hospital, where she was listed in critical condition but expected to survive, the Los Angeles Times reported Monday.

"Most of her face is burned," Craig said. Her family added Lamare had been dating Oliver for about six months.

Police were looking for Oliver, saying he faces charges of attempted murder and arson.
