Shell casing matches shooting evidence

NOVI, Mich., Nov. 9 (UPI) -- A police detective told a judge a shell casing was discovered in the car of a man suspected in 24 shootings at people and vehicles in the Detroit area.

Raulie Wayne Casteel, 43, was charged with six offenses Wednesday in Howell, Mich., District Court in an Oct. 18 shooting incident, the Detroit News reported Friday.

"We expect he will be facing numerous other charges because we feel he is the person responsible for shootings reported in four different counties," said Wixom, Mich., Police Chief Clarence Goodlein.

In Novi District Court Friday, Detective Ronald Moore told Judge Dennis Powers investigators discovered a spent shell casing from Casteel's 9mm handgun in the windshield wiper track of Casteel's car, matching ballistic evidence obtained from several shooting incidents.
