The alleged ransom note read: "Shiva your daughter has been kidnapped. If you report it to the cops you daughter will be cut into pieces and found dead. If you inform this to anyone, you will find your daughter body parts thrown into your apartments. Prople [people] are monitoring all your moves all the time. Your emails & phones are being traced."

The baby's body was found in the sauna area of the basement of the Marquis apartments. A police affidavit said the child was gagged and stuffed into a suitcase.

Grandmother Satayvathi Venna, 61, who had been visiting from India since July, had been babysitting the child. She was killed trying to protect her, suffering knife wounds, police said.

Montgomery County District Attorney Risa Ferman said Yandamuri had known the family since the summer and believed the parents had money. Both parents are software engineers.
