TALLAHASSEE, Fla., Oct. 21 (UPI) -- The roof over an apartment building clubhouse in Tallahassee, Fla., collapsed early Sunday, injuring 55 people who were attending a party, officials said.
A collapse at Seminole Grand Apartments was reported to police around 1:20 a.m. Sunday, the Tallahassee (Fla.) Democrat reported.
Police spokeswoman Anitra Highland said a party was taking place at Seminole Grand's clubhouse when the roof collapsed.
"Multiple people have sustained minor injuries. None are life-threatening," Highland said.
Tallahassee Fire Department spokesman Mike Bellamy said he received reports of "a large number" of people attending the party. He said the cause of the collapse is under investigation.
Seminole Grand was built in 1995 and is made up of nearly 40 buildings on 44 acres. The collapse caused about $250,000 worth of damage, Bellamy said.
