Body ID'd as missing SoCal woman

NEWPORT BEACH, Calif., Oct. 19 (UPI) -- The body of the missing wife of a Southern California real estate investor was positively identified Friday, Orange County prosecutors said.

The Orange County District Attorney's office said in a written statement that the body discovered in an outdoors garbage bin in neighboring San Diego County Thursday was that of Quee "Q.C." Chadwick, 46, who disappeared Oct. 10 from her home in upscale Newport Beach.

Chadwick's husband, Peter, 48, was arrested last week while apparently trying to enter Mexico at the San Ysidro border crossing in San Diego. The district attorney's statement said Chadwick allegedly killed his wife "over a dispute regarding a possible divorce and related financial issues."

Chadwick is accused of killing his wife for financial gain and faces life in prison if convicted of murder.

Newport Beach police began searching for the Chadwicks after they failed to pick up their children from school. Officer who entered the home found blood and signs of a struggle, prosecutors said.
