AKRON, Ohio, Oct. 18 (UPI) -- Prosecutors said a suitcase full of weapons was found in the bedroom of a Stow, Ohio, teenager charged in the deaths of three men.
Brogan Rafferty, 17, has pleaded not guilty to multiple counts of aggravated murder, kidnapping, robbery and theft in the deaths of three men who answered a Craigslist help-wanted ad to oversee and live on nearby property. A fourth respondent to the ad was shot and injured but escaped alive, the Akron, Ohio, Beacon Journal reported Thursday.
Rafferty and a man described by the newspaper as a longtime family friend and mentor, Richard Beasley, 53, are accused of killing Ralph Geiger, 56, Timothy Kern, 47, and David Pauley, 51, described by prosecutors as down-on-their-luck bachelors.
The escape of the fourth victim, Scott Davis, 48, led authorities to Pauley's body, buried on the property, and opened the investigation, the newspaper said.
Geiger, Kern and Pauley were believed to have been killed between August and November. Davis was shot Nov. 6, court documents said.
Jurors in the trial Wednesday saw photographs of a sawed-off shotgun, a pistol, a shotgun, knives and ammunition police say were recovered from Rafferty's bedroom. The panel also heard the questioning of state forensic expert Allan Buxton, who testified the Craigslist ads and website searches for handgun and shotgun information were found on Rafferty's two home computers, court records said.
