CHICAGO, Oct. 15 (UPI) -- An Illinois man became the last of eight "boylovers" caught in a 2009 FBI sting to be imprisoned for sexual exploitation and abuse, authorities said Monday.
Mark McGill, 27, of Crest Hill was sentenced Oct. 9 to nine years in federal prison, followed by 20 years of supervised release, for possessing and distributing child pornography, the U.S. attorney's office said in a release.
He was one of the self-identified "boylovers" who met in person and online to discuss their sexual interest in children and trade child pornography, authorities said. He and the others were arrested in an FBI sting during or soon after a purported party at a hotel in suburban Skokie.
Six of the eight defendants pleaded guilty, while McGill and a Missouri man were found guilty in separate trials.
The other defendants were: Jose Garcia, 25, of Schererville, Ind., 33 years in prison followed by lifetime supervised release; Jacob Elliott, 32, of Matteson, 20 years in prison followed by 10 years supervised release; Corey Stinefast, 30, of Kenosha, Wis., 18 years in prison followed by lifetime supervised release; Neal Maschke, 42, of West Chicago, Ill., nine years in prison followed by five years' supervised release; Donald Peppers, 38, of Hoffman Estates, Ill., 27 years in prison followed by lifetime supervised release; Michael Martin, age and hometown unavailable, 120 years in prison; and Matthew Klopfenstine, age and hometown unavailable, 15 years and eight months.
