MINNEAPOLIS, Oct. 15 (UPI) -- A woman cited for drunken driving after her vehicle hit three pedestrians in Minneapolis said she didn't see the walkers, police said.
Police said Kristine J. Peterson, 32, of St. Francis, Minn., was turning left at an intersection near the University of Minnesota Sunday and her vehicle struck the people as they were crossing a street, the Minneapolis Star Tribune reported Monday.
All six victims were treated at area hospitals and one remained hospitalized Monday in satisfactory condition, hospital officials said.
Peterson told police she didn't see the pedestrians, Police Sgt. Stephen McCarty said.
McCarty declined to say what Peterson's blood-alcohol content was but he said said it was above 0.08 percent, the legal limit for driving in Minnesota, the Star Tribune reported.
Peterson was ticketed for drunken driving and jailed. She was released Sunday.
