ST. PAUL, Minn., Oct. 10 (UPI) -- Prosecutors in Minnesota have added 17 counts of possession of child pornography to the case against a Catholic priest accused of molesting children.
Curtis Carl Wehmeyer, 48, of Oakdale, formerly a priest at Blessed Sacrament Church in St. Paul, was already charged with three counts of criminal sexual conduct, the St. Paul Pioneer Press reported. He was scheduled to make his first court appearance on all charges Wednesday.
Prosecutors say two boys who described Wehmeyer molesting them also told investigators the priest had them look at pornography on his laptop computer.
The computer was seized, and prosecutors say a police officer who examined it found "several still images and video files depicting sex acts involving prepubescent males."
Wehmeyer allegedly molested a 12-year-old boy in a camper parked in the church lot. The other boy, described as being younger than 16, said Wehmeyer molested him on camping trips.
