DENVER, Oct. 3 (UPI) -- A burglar stole a grandfather's keepsake photo of the youngest victim of a movie theater shooting in Aurora, Colo., Denver police said.
Veronica Moser-Sullivan, 6, was the youngest of 12 people slain in a movie theater massacre July 20. During the burglary, reported Tuesday, four digital cameras were taken, one of which had photos of Moser-Sullivan -- grinning ear-to-ear while eating an ice cream cone during a grade school graduation celebration in May, the Denver Post reported.
Moser-Sullivan's mother, Ashley Sullivan, was also shot during the incident, in the neck and stomach. She continues to recover, the newspaper said.
Grandfather Robert Sullivan said he does not think the burglars targeted the photos and hopes they'll be returned.
"I look at what happened here today and it's just another spike in the heart," he said. "And my heart has been torn apart."
