Police said Aguilar went missing Sept. 20, The Miami Herald reported. Aguilar's longtime friend, Pedro Bravo, remains in custody though he has not been charged with Aguilar's death.

Bravo admitted to police he fought with Aguilar the night he disappeared, saying he left him "bloody, swollen and barely breathing or moving," in a field behind a motorcycle repair shop in Gainsville, Fla., court papers said.

Police have led a volunteer search party of 200 people each day canvassing the area in search of Aguilar to no avail, the newspaper reported.

Bravo remains in custody in lieu of $100,000 bail on a charge of depriving a crime victim of medical care.
