SNOQUALMIE, Wash., Sept. 23 (UPI) -- Sheriff's deputies said they quickly rounded up six fugitives from a juvenile detention facility near Seattle.
The six allegedly broke out of facility in Snoqualmie Saturday night by knocking a staff member unconscious with a frozen bottle of water and then stealing her keys and radio.
King County sheriff's deputies joined police and the Washington State Patrol in the manhunt and located the six suspects in nearby woods.
Deputies told the Seattle Times that some of the youths -- ages 14-15 -- suffered dog bites from K-9 units that helped track them down.
The injured staff member was expected to recover, said sheriff's Sgt. Cindi West. "She was unconscious and some other kids found her and called for help," West said. "It definitely appears this was planned; the detective on the scene said when they found the boys they had their packed bags with them."
