2 teen hikers killed in fall

OTTER FALLS, Wash., Sept. 17 (UPI) -- Two teens were killed while hiking outside Seattle, the King County, Wash., sheriff said.

The hikers, ages 16 and 18, were two of a foursome hiking near Otter Falls, Wash., Sunday night. The pair attempted to climb a large rock and fell. Their companions attempted to perform CPR and built a fire to keep warm. Eventually one of the two uninjured hikers ran ahead to get help and found a Forest Service worker who called 911, the Seattle Times reported.

Rescuers located the party by helicopter, but the boys had already died.
