Grenades, ammunition found in Ind. park

ANDERSON, Ind., Sept. 10 (UPI) -- A bomb squad was called to a park in Anderson, Ind., following the discovery of grenades and ammunition in a wooded area, officials said.

Children found the five grenades and several rounds of ammunition near Athletic Park Sunday afternoon, The (Anderson) Herald Bulletin reported.

An Indiana State Police bomb squad arrived on the scene about 3 p.m. and recovered the grenades and ammunition, and conducted a sweep of the area with a bomb-sniffing K-9, officials said.

The annual Andersontown Powwow and Indian Market was at the park Sunday, but was not evacuated after the grenades and ammunition were found.
