Tweeted threat on Obama investigated

CINCINNATI, Sept. 8 (UPI) -- A high school student in Ohio was being investigated for allegedly sending a tweet calling for President Barack Obama's assassination, the Secret Service said.

The threat was made Thursday, apparently from Alyssa Douglas' Twitter account, The Cincinnati Enquirer reported.

By Friday morning, officials in the Clinton-Massie School District had called Douglas and her parents in for a meeting, and the Secret Service was investigating the tweet.

"Someone needs to assassinate Obama ... like ASAP," was the message.

Mark Porter, the agent in charge of the Secret Service's Cincinnati office, said all threats against the president are investigated by the local office. Assassination threats are also referred to the Intelligence Division.
