Cop allegedly stopped women for sex kicks

MIAMI, Sept. 6 (UPI) -- A Miami-Dade police officer has been charged with stopping female drivers and detaining them for sexually suggestive conversation.

Prabhainjana Dwivedi, 33, who was transferred to desk duty last year because of his alleged questionable traffic stops, was arrested Wednesday by the FBI, The Miami Herald reported. Dwivedi, who has been with the Miami-Dade Police Department for seven years, formerly was on patrol on the overnight shift.

Investigators say Dwivedi stopped several women and held some of them for an hour or more before releasing them without giving them tickets. A victim identified only as A.R. said Dwivedi told her to unzip her dress, partly exposing her breasts.

In one case, a woman said he followed her home, asked to come in because he was thirsty and then spent an hour telling her about his personal life. She said Dwivedi had already asked her about her breasts, which had been surgically enlarged.

In another case, he allegedly stopped a female undercover police officer.

The charges involve traffic stops in May and June of 2011. The FBI has asked other women who had encounters with Dwivedi to come forward.
