Man allegedly shoots up NYC bowling alley

NEW YORK, Aug. 30 (UPI) -- A 74-year-old man was arrested after allegedly shooting at his estranged wife in a New York City bowling alley, officials said.

Armando Tritto allegedly walked into a Staten Island bowling alley Wednesday morning and shot at least three times at his estranged wife Maureen Tritto, 47, as she and other employees prepared to open the establishment for the day, the New York Daily News reported.

Maureen and Armando Tritto recently split up, neighbors said. Maureen Tritto and her two sons moved out of their home and into her her mother and stepfather's home on the opposite side of Staten Island.

No one was injured during the shooting, officials said.

Armando Tritto allegedly dropped his gun and fled the bowling alley, but was picked up later by police, officials said.

The suspect complained of chest pain and was brought to a hospital before being charged with attempted assault, criminal use and possession of a firearm, reckless endangerment and resisting arrest.
