SAN JOSE, Calif., Aug. 16 (UPI) -- Don't go looking for magic spells and services on eBay -- the U.S. online marketplace says it is banning all sales of supernatural goods.

The Chicago Tribune said Thursday the announcement came in eBay's 2012 Fall Seller Update.

The report said the banned items include "advice; spells; curses; hexing; conjuring; magic services; prayers; blessings; Psychic, Tarot, Reiki and other metaphysical readings & services; magic potions; healing sessions."

The newspaper reported eBay said in an e-mail it reviews categories and updates policies regularly based on customer feedback, and is "discontinuing a small number of categories within the larger Metaphysical subcategory."

EBay spokeswoman Johnna Hoff told the Tribune buyers and sellers have complained to eBay magical or supernatural transactions "often result in issues that can be difficult to resolve."

The site said beginning Aug. 30, attempts to list enchantments for sale will be blocked.

But the Tribune said Craigslist still allows sellers to offer such posts, including one last week from Temecula advertising "LOVE SPELLS, MONEY SPELLS and MORE!!"
