OKLAHOMA CITY, Aug. 13 (UPI) -- The Grand Mosque of Oklahoma City was vandalized with paint balls, the mosque's director said.

Surveillance cameras captured the incident early Sunday and were turned over to police, mosque Imam and Director Hassan Ahmed said.

"A car pulled in here in front of the main entrance and started shooting paintball guns, but at the time I didn't know it was that. I thought it was bullets they were shooting," he said.

Police arrived several minutes later, the (Oklahoma City) Oklahoman reported Monday.

"I'm speechless. I cannot believe this is occurring in Oklahoma, where diversity and religious tolerance is always there," Ahmed said, adding the paint splatter was quickly removed, and that no other damage was apparent.
