TACOMA, Wash., Aug. 1 (UPI) -- A Washington state man who made videos of the alleged raping of more than a dozen young boys says he wants to show the videos in court to his alleged victims.
Weldon Marc Gilbert, from Lake Tapp, is acting as his own attorney in his trial in Pierce County on state charges of sexually abusing six boys now in their 20s, KCPO-TV, Seattle, reported.
He's already serving 25 years in prison on federal child pornography charges.
The alleged victims plan to take the stand against Gilbert and he has sought the court's permission to show the videos to them, the report said.
Because he's acting as his own attorney, Gilbert has been allowed to watch more than 100 videos he made of the alleged abuse.
Pierce County prosecutor Mark Lindquist said the court has prohibited Gilbert from interviewing the victims. All cross-examination must be done by an investigator or stand-by counsel.
Gilbert's trial has been delayed 12 times at his request. His trial is now set for Sept. 17.
