WASHINGTON, July 6 (UPI) -- The U.S. House Rules Committee said it will meet Monday to take up the "Repeal of Obamacare Act" in response to the Supreme Court upholding the law.

The Rules Committee meeting predicates the vote by the Republican-controlled House. House Republicans have tried to repeal the law previously, but those efforts died in the Democrat-led Senate, Politico reported Thursday.

Soon after the Supreme Court announced its decision last week, House Majority Leader Eric Cantor, R-Va., said a repeal vote would be the week of July 9.
