Man charged with vandalizing Picasso

HOUSTON, June 23 (UPI) -- A young Houston man has been charged with spray-painting a bull and the word "conquista" on a Picasso hung in the city's Menil Collection museum.

Uriel Landeros, 22, was charged Friday with criminal mischief and felony graffiti, the Cypress Creek Mirror reported. He had not been arrested, and police were looking for him.

"Woman in a Red Armchair," painted by Pablo Picasso in 1929, was vandalized June 13. The painting is valued at several million dollars.

The vandalism was filmed with a cellphone camera and posted on YouTube with Landeros helpfully identified as the culprit, the Houston Chronicle reported.

Police said they gathered other evidence against Landeros, including a March 29 tweet that said "one day pablo one day."
