Fans describes Dodger Stadium melee

LOS ANGELES, June 2 (UPI) -- A San Francisco Giants fan testified that Bryan Stow toppled like a tree during what he said was an unprovoked attack in the parking lot of Dodger Stadium.

Alan Bradford said he saw Stow go down during the melee on Opening Day last year and figured he was already unconscious since he made no effort to break his fall.

"It was just like a tree falling," Bradford said at the preliminary hearing in Los Angeles Friday for alleged assailants Marvin Norwood and Louie Sanchez, both from Rialto, Calif.

Bradford testified that neither Stow nor anyone else had done anything to provoke their assailants, who are charged with felonies that include assault and mayhem. The preliminary hearing will determine if there is enough evidence to put Sanchez and Norwood on trial.

The Los Angeles Times said Bradford was not able to positively identify either of the defendants as the ones who jumped him. Bradford picked Sanchez out of a police lineup as "looking familiar."

Sanchez and Norwood were charged based on allegedly incriminating statements made to police and to Sanchez's sister, the newspaper said.
