Sandusky at closed meeting with judge

BELLEFONTE, Pa., May 30 (UPI) -- Former Penn State assistant football coach Jerry Sandusky and his lawyers met Tuesday with prosecutors and the judge hearing his sexual assault case.

The subject of the meeting was not released, and participants, who are subject to a gag order, would not say anything about it when they left the courthouse at about 6 p.m., The Patriot-News of Harrisburg reported.

Sandusky is charged with sexually assaulting at least 10 boys. Jury selection is scheduled to begin June 5 in Pennsylvania's Centre County.

Also Tuesday, lawyers for four of the alleged victims asked Common Pleas Judge John Cleland to keep their names hidden. They argued that the names of victims of sexual assault, especially children, are usually not made public and that allowing them to be identified might scare other victims.

The Pennsylvania Coalition Against Rape and the Pennsylvania Coalition Against Domestic Violence filed friend of the court briefs supporting their arguments.
