Dad of autistic boy still not satisfied

CHERRY HILL, N.J., April 25 (UPI) -- A South Jersey man says school officials should identify the New Jersey teacher audio taped shouting at his autistic son.

Stuart Chaifetz said he is not satisfied with a statement from the superintendent that everyone involved is no longer with the Cherry Hill school district, The (Cherry Hill) Courier-Post reported. He said he believes a teacher was simply transferred, although two aides either quit or were fired.

Chaifetz sent his son, Akian, 10, to Horace Mann Elementary School on Feb. 17 with a recorder hidden in his clothes. Chaifetz was concerned about reports from the school on his son's conduct that seemed uncharacteristic of the boy.

After turning over the recording to school officials, Chaifetz went public this week with a YouTube presentation that included a recording of school employees yelling at Akian. They were also caught discussing topics like hangovers in front of the boy.

Maureen Reusche, the superintendent, said none of the employees involved remain in Cherry Hill schools. She refused to comment on the circumstances of their departure, saying that was a personnel matter.
