5.9 quake recorded off Oregon coast

BANDON, Ore., April 11 (UPI) -- U.S. seismologists recorded a 5.9-magnitude earthquake off the coast of Oregon Wednesday afternoon.

The quake was centered about 161 miles west-northwest of Bandon, 168 miles west of Coos Bay, 213 miles west of Roseburg, 223 miles west-southwest of Corvallis and 242 miles west-southwest of Salem, the U.S. Geological Survey said.

It occurred at a depth of 6 miles.

There were no initial reports of damage or injuries.
