NEW YORK, March 25 (UPI) -- A baby boy was found abandoned in the lobby of a New York City apartment building, officials said.
The baby, believed to be 2 to 3 months old, was found Saturday afternoon in a car seat next to a black diaper bag with diapers and formula inside, the New York Post reported.
Chen Ling, 60, discovered the baby in the lobby of her Brooklyn apartment building as she was taking out her trash.
"I felt broken-hearted and very concerned for the child," she said. "I hope the parents will realize their mistake for abandoning their child like that."
Ling said she questioned her neighbors but was unable to locate the boy's parents, then called the police.
Police canvassed the area but did not find the parents.
The baby was taken to Lutheran Medical Center, where he was found to be in good health, police said.
