TULSA, Okla., March 7 (UPI) -- An Oklahoma judge postponed a hearing Wednesday for Richard Roberts, ex-president of Oral Roberts University, who faces a drunk driving charge.
Roberts is now scheduled to appear May 4, KRMG.com reported. He has pleaded not guilty to the misdemeanor DUI charge.
A state trooper arrested Roberts on Jan. 24, the Tulsa World reported. His arrest report said the trooper clocked him at 93 mph in a 65-mph zone and then determined his blood alcohol level was .11. The legal limit is .08.
Roberts, 63, is the president of the Oral Roberts Evangelistic Association. His father Oral Roberts died in 2009. Richard Roberts served as president of Oral Roberts University, resigning in 2007 after three former professors filed a lawsuit alleging wrongful termination and financial mismanagement, the report said.
