Gunman injures 5 at Oklahoma courthouse

TULSA, Okla., March 7 (UPI) -- A suspect was in custody Wednesday after a gunman injured five people, including a police officer, at the Tulsa County Courthouse in Oklahoma.

Police said the suspect was shot by deputies after he began firing into the air on the north side of the courthouse at 5th Street and Denver Avenue, KFOR-TV, Oklahoma City, reported.

One man was in critical condition, while another was in serious condition and two others were in fair condition, the station said. Another woman was treated and released.

The identity of the white male suspect, who is being treated at a hospital, was not released by authorities.

One deputy was shot in the arm while another officer was injured when she swerved to avoid a car and overturned her police cruiser.
