Professor faces child pornography charges

CAROL STREAM, Ill., March 2 (UPI) -- A 60-year-old professor at a college in Wheaton, Ill., has been charged with possession of images and videos containing child pornography, officials said.

Donald Ratcliff, 60, a professor of Christian education at Wheaton College, an evangelical school in Wheaton, west of Chicago, has been charged with two counts of aggravated child pornography after an investigation by the Carol Stream Police Department, the DuPage County State's Attorney's Office said.

Ratcliff, of Carol Stream, was to appear in bond court Friday, the Chicago Tribune reported.

He has been a Wheaton College faculty member since 2006, his biography on the college's Web site said.

The college said it was in the process of putting Ratcliff on administrative leave.
