AKRON, Ohio, Feb. 23 (UPI) -- An Ohio teenager is scheduled to go on trial in October on charges he helped kill two men who responded to a Craigslist ad offering work.

Common Pleas Judge Lynne Callahan set an Oct. 9 date for Brogan Rafferty's trial in Summit County, The Akron (Ohio) Beacon Journal reported. Rafferty, who just turned 17, is charged with murder and attempted murder there, and a hearing in April will determine if he is to be tried as an adult or juvenile.

Rafferty already faces adult charges in Noble County involving another killing and an attempted murder.

Investigators say Rafferty, a resident of Stow, Ohio, and Richard James Beasley, 52, of Akron placed ads on Craigslist offering $300 a week and a trailer rent free for acting as a caretaker to a piece of farm property. The men who responded were allegedly ambushed, shot dead and buried.

The pair were arrested after Scott Davis, 48, of South Carolina managed to get away after suffering a bullet wound.
