Two dead in Missouri plane crash

CAMERON, Mo., Feb. 15 (UPI) -- Two men were killed when their small plane crashed and burned in a northwest Missouri pasture, police said.

The men, whose names were not released, were in a 1967 Piper Cherokee, a single-engine propeller plane, flying low and circling above the home of friends late Tuesday afternoon near Cameron, Mo., when the plane crashed about 200 yards from the house, the Kansas City (Mo.) Star reported.

"The family was outside to wave. During one of those fly-bys something went horribly wrong," said Missouri Highway Patrol Sgt. Sheldon Lyon.

DNA samples were sent to the Highway Patrol laboratory in Jefferson City for positive identification.

The Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board will investigate, the newspaper said.
