Police: Letter is 'domestic terrorism'

MIAMI, Ohio, Feb. 14 (UPI) -- The FBI is investigating a suspicious letter that was sent to a Miami, Ohio, business in what police say "appears to be an issue of domestic terrorism."

The FBI expects to take custody of the letter, which was sent Feb. 9 to a business whose name has not been publicly disclosed, the Dayton (Ohio) Daily News reported Tuesday.

"It appears to be an issue of domestic terrorism," John DiPietro, Miami's deputy police chief, told the newspaper. "We're not aware of any danger to any persons as a result of this letter.

"We're just dealing with a threat. We're not dealing with any action that has occurred," he said.

DiPietro said it appears as though the letter was sent to similar businesses across the country.

"It looks like there would be multiple targets," he said.
