DETROIT, Feb. 14 (UPI) -- The Nigerian who tried to blow up a Detroit-bound jetliner on Christmas Day 2009 shouldn't receive life in prison for the failed attack, his legal adviser said.
Anthony Chambers wrote in a legal filing that spending the rest of his life in prison amounts to cruel and unusual punishment for 25-year-old Umar Farouk Adbulmutallab, The Detroit News reported Tuesday.
