Colorado prison in Blagojevich's future

CHICAGO, Feb. 14 (UPI) -- Former Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich's next address will be a low-security federal prison in Colorado, the Chicago Tribune reported Tuesday.

The newspaper's sources said Blagojevich has been told he will begin serving his 14-year sentence for corruption March 15 at the Federal Correctional Institution Englewood in Littleton, a Denver suburb.

The former governor's attorneys had asked he be allowed to do his time at Englewood and the U.S. District Judge James Zagel agreed to recommend to prison officials that Blagojevich be sent there.

Blagojevich plans to enroll in a substance-abuse program at the prison, which could reduce his time served by a year, the Tribune said.
