3 dead, 2 wounded in Fla. trailer park

DEERFIELD BEACH, Fla., Feb. 11 (UPI) -- A Florida man shot a Canadian man to death before wounding his own wife and one son and taking the life of a second son and his own, police say.

The assailant in the Thursday night carnage at a Broward County recreational vehicle campground was identified by authorities as William De Jesus, 41, of Port Orange, the Daytona Beach News-Journal reported Saturday.

County sheriff's officials said De Jesus shot Ovila Plante, 76, of La Tuque, Quebec, during an argument. The De Jesus family went into Plante's RV where at some point he stabbed his wife Deanna, and sons Jeshiah, 9, and Samson, 7, with a kitchen knife before taking his own life. Jeshiah also died, while Deanna De Jesus and the 7-year-old boy were hospitalized with serious wounds.

Plante's girlfriend, Pierrette Beauchemin, was in the RV with the De Jesus family but escaped uninjured.

It wasn't clear what De Jesus and Plante had argued about.
