Amber alert child found safe in Chicago

CHICAGO, Feb. 8 (UPI) -- A man wanted for the killing of a Wisconsin woman and the abduction of their 2-year-old daughter was arrested Wednesday in Chicago, police said.

Authorities apprehended Iryin Vaughn, 25, and rescued 2-year-old Iryana K. Vaughn at the home of a relative on the city's Southside, the Chicago Tribune reported.

Vaughn was wanted in connection with the killing of the girl's mother who was found dead at a home in Racine, Wis.

Police wouldn't release the name of the victim but said she had another child who was reported to be safe.

Vaughn had several convictions for domestic battery, police said.
