1 dead, 3 injured in poker game shootout

NORTHINGTON, Texas, Feb. 5 (UPI) -- A shootout at a poker game in Harris County, Texas, left one dead and three injured, police said.

The incident happened around 1:30 a.m. Sunday during a gathering at a home near Northington, KTRK-TV, Houston, reported.

Witnesses told police the suspect started causing a problem and several people asked him to leave and shoved him down the driveway.

The suspect went to his car and returned with a gun, police said. He then opened fire on the crowd and shot three people.

One of the victims then got his own gun and returned fire, hitting the suspect.

Police said the suspect fled and was apprehended a few blocks away at a gas station.

One of the victims died, while the other two were in the hospital Sunday in serious but stable condition, authorities said. The suspect was in critical condition.

No names have been released.
