OKLAHOMA CITY, Dec. 29 (UPI) -- A lawyer representing the husband of a missing Oklahoma woman says she worked as a prostitute, soliciting clients on line.
Jaymie Adams was reported missing by her husband Dec. 10. Oklahoma City police say the homicide division is working with missing persons on the investigation, The Oklahoman reported.
"Homicide will get involved, in cases like this, because of the length of time she's been missing," Police Capt. Dexter Nelson said Wednesday. "There's that, and the mysterious circumstances surrounding the disappearance."
Justin Adams called police before daybreak on Dec. 10 and asked to be met at a McDonald's restaurant. He told the responding officer his wife was supposed to meet someone there at 11 p.m. the night before.
The officer said Adams became "very agitated" at his questions. Adams also allegedly asked for a tool he could use to get into his wife's car, which was in the restaurant parking lot.
Irven Box, who is representing Adams, has his own theory.
"We think all of this may have to do with Craigslist ... or someone she met there," Box said. "We think there's a strong possibility this may also be linked to prostitution."
