ST. BERNARD, Ohio, Dec. 29 (UPI) -- Police in St. Bernard, Ohio, say someone stole 2,000 toys from a U.S. Marines "Toys for Tots" warehouse during the Christmas weekend.

Windows were broken at the warehouse and toys including "board games, dolls and Coca-Cola logo items," many of them bearing the "Toys for Tots" logo, were stolen, police said Wednesday.

Also taken were personal items that belonged to the Marines including a laptop, microwave oven and small refrigerator, The Cincinnati Enquirer reported.

Police said investigators collected fingerprints and DNA evidence and were canvassing neighboring businesses for surveillance camera footage that may have captured the suspects' images.

St. Bernard police issued a public appeal to "help us to get these toys back to children and these personal items back to our dedicated Marines."
