INDIANAPOLIS, Dec. 28 (UPI) -- Two women who claimed they were injured Aug. 13 when stage-rigging collapsed at the Indiana State Fair didn't even attend the concert, prosecutors said.

Stephanie Murry, 25, and Sandra Hurn, 38, both of Indianapolis, are accused of fraud for trying to collect $22,500 from the Indiana State Fair Remembrance Fund and the Indiana Tort Claim Fund, the Indianapolis Star reported Tuesday.

Seven people died and at least 58 people were injured when heavy winds caused rigging to fall on audience members at the Hoosier Lottery Grandstand who were waiting for Sugarland to perform.

Marion County Prosecutor Terry Curry said Hurn initially collected a $7,500 check from the remembrance fund.

Prosecutors said Hurn confessed to the scheme under questioning by detectives. She faces charges of forgery, perjury, theft and attempted theft. Murry faces felony charges of forgery, perjury and attempted theft, the newspaper said.
