Two-car crash claims 4 lives in Maine

PALERMO, Maine, Dec. 25 (UPI) -- A sport utility vehicle slid in the path of a car during a light snowfall in Maine Sunday, killing four people, police said.

The victims were the driver of the SUV, Tyler Manduca, 18, of Bucksport; his brother, Kyle Manduca, 21, also of Bucksport; the driver of the car, Dennis Sturges, 64, of Palermo; and Sturges' father, Roy Lucier, 83, also of Palermo.

State Police troopers said the SUV driver was traveling too fast for conditions when he lost control of his vehicle, state Public Safety Department spokesman Steve McCausland told the Lewiston Sun Journal.

Alcohol was not considered to be a factor, he said.
