ORLANDO, Fla., Nov. 16 (UPI) -- A mother and daughter have been arrested for provoking a lunchroom brawl at an Orlando, Fla., middle school, police said.
Orange County deputies told WFTV, Orlando, Leslie Thomas stormed into Lockhart Middle School and helped her daughter beat up another student in the cafeteria Tuesday.
Mother and daughter were arrested by police who charged the mother with battery, child abuse, provoking a fight and entering the school without permission.
Details on charges against the daughter have not been released because she is a minor.
Sixth-grader Jahmiyah Smith said Thomas' daughter called her a name "and then I turned around and she hit me from the back."
Jahmiyah said her friends stepped in to stop it and that's when Leslie Thomas got involved.
"She was in there fighting with the kids," Jahmiyah said.
Jahmiyah's mother said she had complained to school officials about her daughter being bullied.
