CHARLESTON, S.C., Nov. 15 (UPI) -- The Citadel's president says the South Carolina military college should have done more after receiving a sexual misconduct complaint against a counselor.

Lt. Gen. John W. Rosa told a news conference in Charleston Monday that a summer camper's allegations against cadet Louis "Skip" ReVille in 2007 should have been pursued further than the in-house investigation that took place, WCIV-TV, Charleston, reported.

ReVille, now 32, faces charges of molesting five teenage boys, and is expected to face six additional charges, in cases unrelated to The Citadel.

Rosa said the family of a camper came forward and their attorney provided a 169-page statement alleging in 2002 ReVille lured their son into his room to watch pornography and masturbate. A second camper also was involved in the incident but Rosa said there was no physical contact between the three.

Rosa said ReVille strongly denied the allegations at the time and the school dropped the matter.

"We interviewed other camp staff, which were very complimentary of ReVille," Rosa said. "When the family did not pursue the matter, we did not either. We should have."

At the time, The Citadel was not bound by statute to report molestation incidents to police.
