BERGHOLZ, Ohio, Nov. 11 (UPI) -- Ohio law enforcement officers say they are investigating another alleged Amish beard-cutting attack Wednesday night.

Jefferson County sheriff's officers said the alleged incident happened in Bergholz in the breakaway Amish community led by Samuel Mullet, The Times-Reporter of Dover-New Philadelphia reported.

Investigators say an elderly couple from Michigan traveled to Bergholz to see their son, who is married to one of Mullet's daughters.

Police said the couple hoped to reconnect with their son and their grandchildren, who they had not seen for some time.

The father and mother reported that during the visit, the situation became heated and the son grabbed his father and started to cut his beard off, with the help of the grandchildren.

No charges have been filed because the victims don't want to press charges, Jefferson County Sheriff Fred Abdalla said.

However, the information has been turned over to the FBI and there may be federal charges with or without the victim's participation, Abdalla said.
