PHILADELPHIA, Nov. 6 (UPI) -- Two members of the Occupy Philadelphia movement took time out from protesting Sunday to unify with each other in matrimony.
Alicia Nauss, 24, and Adam Hill, 27, met while working together at the movement's information tent, The Philadelphia Inquirer reported.
"We were both here from Day 1. Sometimes you meet someone and you just know. When that happens so organically, so naturally, that's a sign," Nauss said.
The afternoon ceremony was attended by scores of other movement participants along with onlookers, the newspaper said.
The wedding was a collaborative effort by members of Occupy Philadelphia with the food committee making a cake and a friend donating crystal glasses used at his own wedding 25 years ago.
When final preparations were under way Saturday, Nauss said she was touched by the generosity of others.
"People are so generous and so kind and focused on each other, it's really heartening. Our entire wedding is based on people's kindness," Nauss said.
"We want the entire wedding to embody the movement."
A Baptist minister, philosophy professor and fellow occupier, Michael Pierce, performed the ceremony.
