NEW YORK, Nov. 2 (UPI) -- A man who told police he killed and dismembered his wife in 2007 led officers to her remains stuffed in a bag and left in a New York park, authorities said.

Edwin Fuentes, 44, pleaded guilty to manslaughter and tampering with physical evidence in the death of his wife, Reina De Los Santos Reyes, 42, the New York Post reported Wednesday.

Queens District Attorney Richard Brown said Fuentes would be sentenced to 20 years in prison as part of a plea deal that included divulging the whereabouts of his wife's remains in Forest Park in Queens.

Fuentes, who was arrested last year, reached the plea deal with prosecutors last week and admitted to killing Reyes, the New York Daily news reported.

Fuentes said he put his arm around his wife's neck and choking her to death, Brown said.

Two passersby had found some of Reyes' remains in the park in March 2008.
