Media events in Lisa Irwin case canceled

KANSAS CITY, Mo., Oct. 27 (UPI) -- An attorney for the parents of missing 11-month-old Lisa Irwin says she has canceled a scheduled media tour of the couple's Missouri home.

Attorney Cynthia L. Short, in a written statement, also said she was canceling a press conference set for Thursday, The Kansas City (Mo.) Star reported.

"The last few weeks have been exhausting to everyone working on behalf of the Irwin family, it has exhausted Lisa's parents and her friends and family," attorney Cynthia L. Short said in the statement.

"Therefore, the consensus is we all need a rest, until next week all media, therefore all appointments in Kansas City today and tomorrow are being postponed until next week."

Photographers had been scheduled to tour the family home Thursday morning to take pictures for Kansas City and national media outlets, the Star said.

Lisa Irwin has been missing since Oct. 4 when her parents reported she was abducted from her crib in the family home.
